With CARE’s Pathways to Secure Livelihoods, Datassist has had an ongoing role in providing data collection tools, complex analysis of data, performance-based reports and visualizing the impacts and progress of this significant program across a number of countries, as well as building dashboards so that users across cultures and geographic environments have a realtime view of the data. The analysis focuses on inclusiveness, inter-group synergies and dynamics, improved productivity, market linkages within the ecosystem, improved gender roles and relationships, intervention sequencing and timing through complex longitudinal analyses that emphasize dynamic trends at varying units of analysis.

Pathways to Secure Livelihood Baseline
Datassist worked with the Peel District School Board, which serves over 103000 students in the region’s communities of Mississauga, Brampton, and Caledon, to analyze and visually report testing success comparisons regarding English as a second language in grades 3-6.
Datassist is consistently providing real-world answers to unique data-based questions, and turns data into stories and pictures people talk about. This work shows how Datassist’s work empowers people with the possibilities of data and data visualization.
Datassist has been working with Orb Media, a team of experts in journalism and data science, as a data analyst and strategist. Orb media focuses on eight topics that we all have in common: food, water, energy, health, education, environment, trade and governance, and is challenging assumptions by fusing massive data analysis with knowledge from the crowd, along with professional on-the-ground reporting, ORB Media provides a way for everyone to get involved in this new kind of journalism.
